In a new print, Yoon Hyup finds respite amidst the chaos of Manhattan.
City Fountain is based on the artist’s imagined memory of wandering through New York, as vibrantly lit street vendors emerge beneath the darkening sky. Hyup pauses at a water fountain, captivated by the reflections of dazzling electric lights. The energy of the shimmering lights and echoing sound of the city are captured in his elegant line and dot, as the frenzy of New York continues far after the sun sets.
