A much-loved signature painting by Dutch artist Parra becomes a new limited edition print.

Based on an original acrylic on canvas painting from 2015, in your detached world exemplifies Parra's instantly recognisable approach to composition, where surreal figures and flat fields of colour come together in scenes that are both playful and melancholic.

One of the artist's most requested earlier works, this notable painting has been carefully translated into a limited edition silkscreen print for the first time, created with 6 colours and 13 layers to capture the crisp graphic quality of Parra's signature palette.

Piet Parra paints with his back to the camera wearing a blue cap

Parra5 collaborationsParra’s paintings capture moments of spontaneity, awkwardness and melancholy. The female form serves as the main protagonist in many of his works, along with themes of intimacy and domesticity. His works always start with the composition, like a jigsaw puzzle. Parra sketches fast in pen and paper, then onto an iPad, before painting onto canvas. The palette is strictly flat pinks, reds, blues and blacks. With their contrasting colours, his bright graphic works recall Neo-Pop artists like Gary Hume and Katharina Fritsch.
