Bio
Driven by a desire to breathe new life into history, Glenn Brown, CBE (born 1966), is a British artist renowned for his distinctive reinterpretations of art history and popular culture. Drawing from a wide range of sources, including the internet, books, and printed materials, Glenn transforms appropriated images by altering their colour, position and scale beyond recognition.
His uncanny and compelling figures appear to be painted with thick impasto but are, in fact, rendered through thin, swirling brushstrokes that create the illusion of almost photographically flat surfaces.
