Seth Armstrong

Seth Armstrong lovingly reimagines the view from his childhood home in his signature oil paint, now translated into a limited edition print for the very first time.

Micheltorena is a breathtaking depiction of LA’s vertiginous displays of colour and life, where the manmade and the natural co-exist in harmony. The artist describes these two elements as “equally important” in the composition, “because here the nature is manmade too. Most of these trees would not be here if they weren’t planted and watered for somebody’s yard”. Armstrong’s work is noted for his particularly sensitive depictions of light, which he first began exploring during his studies in the Netherlands. This edition is an archival pigment print with a matte varnish seal and silkscreen spot varnish, carefully chosen to pick out the intricate textures of the original oil painting.
